The mission was simple: To climb Mt. Nanda Khat (6611m) by a new route, in a safe and enjoyable manner with minimal environmental impact and return home as a cohesive team. My first task was to assemble a team. Since the objective had been formed prior to the team, the team composition had to reflect the magnitude of the challenge involved in forging a new route: a right balance between lead climbing skills , endurance and a collectivity where personal ambitions remained subordinate to the larger good of team success.
